This is an oddity of Internet Explorer.  It will either replace or append the .sit extension to the firmware files that are downloaded.  The file itself is intact, so if the extension causes problems just rename it to what the name is supposed to be, i.e. the same name as the link you clicked on to get the file, and all should be well.
